Don't you hate that as well? In the earlier days, the internet was full of free stuff, made by people who just wanted to provide useful or entertaining content. Simply to celebrate this awesome technology. Nowadays, everything needs to be monetized. It takes significant effort to navigate around all the ways in which they try to harvest your data, sell you some product or influence your opinion and it somehow feels like you're stealing their stuff.
