Romanticism

Love is the biggest thing there is. Nothing is more important than finding that one person you love unconditionally for the rest of your life. Among all those people out there, one will be just the perfect match for you and at the same time, you will be the perfect match for them. And when you find each other, you will know and you will give yourself up for that person and not exist as an individual anymore but that's ok because they'll do the same thing and there will never be a "me" again, only an "us".

Ignore all the drama, all the heartbreak, deceit, betrayal and tragedy. Those are just people who didn't find the one yet. Don't worry about that, if you've found them, you know and that won't happen to you. And if it did in the past, you probably knew that it wasn't the one, right from the start. Oh, and if you haven't found them yet, don't worry. Love find's a way and you'll find each other. Because every story always has a happy ending.

Did you ever realize how ridiculous all of that is? Still, if you live in a similar cultural context as me, this should all sound incredibly familiar. It's the message of every second movie, song or book. And people believe in it, not because they think it's true but because it makes them feel good. It's like a religion. That's probably why I don't like it. I don't want to feel good, I want truth.

Panel 1:
Parrot and the beautiful parrot are sitting at a table, sorting jigsaw puzzle pieces.
BP: Can we please take a break? I’m so tired of sorting jigsaw puzzle pieces. We could watch a movie together. I could even make us some popcorn!
Panel 2:
The beautiful parrot is now standing very close to Parrot.
BP: We could just cuddle on the couch for a bit, forget that stupid mystery for a while ... or ... maybe, like ... forever.
Panel 3:
The beautiful parrot is now walking off.
BP: Alright, sort your stupid puzzle pieces. I’m going to bed.
Panel 4:
BP: Well, in case you’d like to join me ...
P: I ... can’t. I must ... find ... that ... piece! I need ... to know ...
