Eating less meat ...

... is probably one of the best things you can do to reduce your impact on CO2 emissions. I wish more people would understand that. I love trying all those new vegan/vegetarian products and some of them are pretty good. The thing that strikes me, though, is that almost all of them just aren't as decadent as the meaty option. Be it fat content, salt, or even just the quantity of the meat replacement. On top of all this, they're more expensive.

Sometimes you just want to indulge in that hedonistic pleasure of decadence. Sometimes you just want food that tries to kill you. That doesn't mean you need to take the planet with you. We need more unhealthy vegetarian food.

Comic transcript

Panel 1:
G and H are at a fast food place. G has a giant burger with fries, H has nothing.
G: Are you really not eating anything? The burgers here are amazing!
H: Nah, I want to eat less meat. Vegetarian food is better for the climate, and it’s more healthy.
Panel 2:
G: Yeah, that’s exactly the problem.
H: What do you mean?
G: I’d love to eat vegetarian food for the climate, ...
Panel 3:
G: ... but since it is healthy, I’ll live longer, meaning that I’ll use more energy and emit more CO2, so there’s no gain. I’ll start eating vegetarian food, as soon as there’s options available that kill me just as fast as this stuff does.
