This is more of a quick an dirty filler comic again, but it's not because I didn't have time. I spent a lot of time and love drawing a comic for today, but then things happened in real life and I found the timing to be really ... suboptimal. Hence, I decided to whip up something for today and release that comic next week, after giving you heads up, so here it is:
Next week's comic is not funny. Make sure you're in a good mindset when reading it. Don't worry too much, it should be fine for most people. In fact, you'll probably wonder why I'm making such a big fuzz about it. I just want to avoid the situation where someone thinks: "Man, life is terrible, everything sucks. I know, I'll read a nice bird.lol comic, that usually lifts me up." (Well, probably nobody thinks that anyways, and it's just wishful thinking). Anyways, this will not work next week!
Well now that you've been warned, what follows is my unqualified, unsolicited, ramblings for this week. Feel free to stop reading, if you were only doing it because you felt pressured by the headline.
I still eat meat. I think the most important thing is, that you're not doing it out of ignorance. Meat is delicious and an paralleled source of protein. And before you jump at me with, beans, lentils, tofu or whatever, actually go online and compare how much protein those foods actually contain. There is really good meat replacement products out there, and I really like those and use them whenever I feel like it. We need to do away with that prejudice that these things are just for vegetarians. Meat replacement products are just new kinds of food, that are really delicious in their own way. I encourage anyone who hasn't already to experiment with them a bit. Still, especially when eating out, they are not always available and often they are quite expensive.
Would I be willing to kill an animal myself? Absolutely, granted it was legal, I knew how to do it and I had a reason to. I'm against the trend of elevating animal rights almost to a human level. I think these opinions stem from an unhealthy amount of anthropomorphization. I know that this is an unpopular opinion, but it is one of those philosophical questions that have no right or wrong answers. Let me have my opinion and I'll let you have yours, while I enjoy my burger and you enjoy your applause.
