I know, I look terribly unprogressive

but if you are in favour of abolishing cash, think about how many messengers you currently have on your phone. Do you think it's completely unreasonable to think that a similar thing might happen with money transfer apps? And unless you are a business owner, what problem do you really have with people using cash? You don't have to, if you don't want it. Sure, handling the logistics of cash is expensive for businesses, but do you *really* think that abolishing cash is going to make anything cheaper for customers?

No, I don't think abolishing cash means that society as we know it will collapse. It might just get a bit more annoying, for unnecessary reasons.

Comic transcript

Panel 1:
Before money was invented (G and H are in medieval clothing)
G: I’d like that sack of potatoes of yours. I can give you a satchel of berries.
H: Nah, I have a bush myself, but I could use a clay pot.
G: Hmmm, I have a clay pot, but its of very good quality. I’ll need at least two sacks for that.
H: I only have this one sack left, but I could give you a bunch of apples.
G: Are they sweet?
H: Nah, more on the sour side.
G: Unfortunate. I’ll need sweet apples for cider. Maybe I could walk back and get some nuts ...
Panel 2:
After money was invented (H is wearing a nice scarf)
G: Hey! Awesome scarf! You think you could knit one for me as well?
H: Sure, just gimme 12 bucks for the wool!
G: Nice! Here ya go.
Panel 3:
After cash was abolished (G and H are sharing a pizza)
G: Thanks for ordering. Can I just Paypal you my share?
H: I don’t use Paypal. Do you have Google Pay?
G: Sorry, I forgot my password for that. I have a Starbucks gift card I could give you.
H: I’m not that into Starbucks, but you could buy me a Steam gift card.
G: I have two factor enabled and my phone battery is dead. Maybe I could buy you some groceries on the way home. You like berries, right? ... Or how about nuts?
